Tempting the Cowboy A Paint River Ranch Book by Elizabeth Otto
After taking a job on a quiet Montana dude ranch, ex-cop Rylan Frederickson finds herself surrounded by unbelievably sexy cowboys. Too bad the one she wants is her boss...and the single dad of a four-year-old. It doesn't matter anyway, because after a recent tragedy, there's simply no more room in her heart.
Letting a new woman into their life is the last thing Cole Haywood wants for him and his daughter, Birdie. But as Rylan's presence at Paint River Ranch breathes new life into his family he can't ignore his growing attraction.
When the sparks between them turn into fireworks in bed, Rylan's torn between the family she's lost and the one she may have found. Now she must decide if something that feels this good is worth the risk.

I'm torn between 3-stars and 4-stars for this one. It's a good book, don't get me wrong, and I'm going to look for other titles by the author. It started really well and I loved the chemistry between Cole and Rylan, which continued throughout the book, but somewhere along the way it ventured into standard fare. Rylan's back-story was interesting and her verbal barbs were great. Cole is your typical cowboy hunk and I enjoyed his family: brother Tucker, mom Maeve and daughter Birdie. The ranch setting was beautifully described by the author. When things got physical, they were pretty hot. All of those are to the book's credit. It just kind of sagged in the middle after an engaging start and strong ending. Definitely worth the fairly quick read. 3.5-stars for me.Product details

Tempting the Cowboy Paint River Ranch Book 1 edition by Elizabeth Otto Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting and the story line was good. I couldn't put this book down until I finished it.
Elizabeth Otto's snarky smexy writing will suck you in and keep you reading all night. Cole Haywood is a hero you'll root for, you'll hate, you'll fall in love with, you'll scream at in frustration, and in the end, you'll want to have his babies.
And just when you think you can't take the emotion anymore, his little girl Birdie will wrap her finger around your heart and not let go.
I loved, loved this book. Looking forward to reading more of this author in the future.
Warning This book may make you cry.
She lost her daughter. And had to start over. Going to the ranch and meeting birdie and her daddy put the spark back in her life. Her little girl must have sent them to her. Because she now can live again and know loving birdie or any other children does not mean she will ever forget her Rachel.
I enjoyed this book very much. The author gave us a good story with enough drama to make it interesting but not so much that I was angst ridden. The writing was clear and very well paced.
Cole is hot, hot, hot and the love scenes sizzle. The scenes are explicit but not gratuitous. These characters, Cole and Rylan, are adults who are expressing love for one another in a most delicious way!
Looking forward to more books in this series.
This was such a wonderful storyline and I enjoyed it so much. I hadn't read anything by this author before so I was pleasantly surprised by how good this book is.
I enjoyed how the author developed the storyline between the two main characters, especially the romance. The secondary characters were exceptionally well written and added so much to the story. I definitely will be reading more by this author because I really enjoy her style of writing. Definitely a five star rating for this book.
Rylan Fredrickson goes to Montana to work at the Paint River Ranch as a housekeeper. She lost everything she loves in life. She needs to get away and heal. When she arrives at the ranch, she knows she's in trouble. The cause is one hot cowboy, Cole Haywood. He's her boss and a single father. Birdie, his daughter, is the love of his life. Her own daughter is dead. Can she cope with caring for another child? She doesn't think so. The past controls her. Elizabeth Otto has written a beautiful emotional romance which explores how we deal with loss. Will Rylan be able to take a chance on happiness? Rylan and Cole are a wonderful match. The sparks fly as they struggle to come to terms with their attraction. Birdie is a such a loving child. She will win your heart. Can they become a family? This story is filled with wry humor and tear inducing emotion. A wonderful story that will keep you reading until the last page. Keep a box of tissues handy.
Rylan comes to Paint River Ranch to find a place to heal. She lost her daughter when her husband was drunk driving and caused a crash. She has been barely living for a long time. She finds a peice of the solace that she needs on the ranch. Until she meets the child she didn't know lived there and she causes painful memories to once again control Rylan.
Cole is the owner, along with his brothers, of PRR. He is jaded by his ex wife, a former employee that he fell in love with. He is raising his little girl as a single dad and wants nothing to do with love again.
The problem, they are both attracted to eachother. But if Rylan can't let both Cole and Birdie in, it won't work. And if Cole can't let Rylan in and stop jumping to conclusions, if won't work.
